SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Town of Summerside is in search of a lead contractor for its fireplace corridor substitute venture.
Town has issued a request for proposals, in search of a “venture development control staff,” which is able to oversee the design and development of the venture. The closing date for corporations to post a bid is Sept. 1.
It’s every other ahead step in a procedure that has dragged on for years as town has struggled to safe the manner to switch its present 60-year-old fireplace station on Foundry Boulevard, referred to as Station 1.
The method to switch Station 1 were stalled for almost a decade ahead of fresh adjustments in more than a few federal investment insurance policies opened the potential for town getting some monetary lend a hand with the venture.
Now that a few of the ones limitations were got rid of, the venture has began to advance fairly hastily. Town has already bought a plot of land off Granville Boulevard to deal with the brand new development.
The whole value of the initiative has been budgeted at $8.9 million. Building is slated to start in 2023, even though no actual get started date has been set but.
